At Supported Care, the key to the delivery of our vision, mission and values of providing the highest possible quality of care for customers is you - our valued customers.

When a new employee joins the Supported Care team, they sign a commitment to the Supported Care Charter; a list of promises including: to treat people with respect, embrace individuality, support self-expression, and promote freedom of choice for the customers they work with. The first promise of the Charter is to “provide the highest quality of care and support possible”.

Our latest 2020 customer survey can confirm that Supported Care is an ‘Outstanding’ rated service, which is caring, effective, safe, responsive, and well-led. Our customers and families report that they are impressed with the quality of Supported Care staff, that they are involved in support decisions, and that their questions are always answered.

What is the meaning of Psychosocial

The term psychosocial denotes both the psychological and social aspects of a person’s life. Psychological characteristics include emotions, thoughts, attitudes, motivation and behaviour. Social aspects denote the way in which a person relates to and interacts with their environment and includes financial and practical issues.

There’s nothing glossy about delivering true quality Mental Health and Acquired Brain Injury care. No one wants to have to rely on somebody else to live comfortably in their own home or community. No one wants to require help to meet their daily goals.

But if we can understand this as support workers – if we can bring a genuine desire to improve a person’s quality of life into our work and a will to make the care right for them – then we can say we are delivering on the promise of our Charter. Quality is not an act, it’s a daily habit, and we’re proud of the care we provide.
