What is NDIS Supported Independent Living?
Supported independent living (SIL) is the name of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funding that provides in-home supports to eligible people living with different abilities to enable them to live as independently as possible.
Funding for SIL is usually provided to people who need 24/7 support while living in the community. It is typically in a shared living arrangement but in some cases may be given to those living on their own.
There can be some confusion about SIL funding and what it encompasses. SIL funding works a bit differently to other parts of the NDIS. SIL funding covers the cost of the support staff in the house, but not the accommodation itself. The funding typically includes things like having a person to help with personal care tasks, or cooking meals.
However, we take an innovative approach to SIL supports and may be able to assist some people with suitable housing solutions to support you and your journey.

The Moffat Beach SIL has two vacancies. We are seeking two males with 1:3 ratio funding. The site will be operated by mixed gender staffing who are available 24/7. The current resident living at this SIL site is a friendly gentleman, who is easy to get along with and enjoys accessing his local community and engaging with his support workers. This is a newly established site and therefore this gentleman has only recently moved in.
This home presents an opportunity for growth, harmony and autonomy. Our staff provide high quality, round the clock support for participants living in our Supported Independent Living homes. However, we encourage individuals to embrace life, living it to the fullest the way they want to.
This particular home, being so close to the ocean, allows participants to engage in activities previously thought as too unreachable. Our Supported Care Team wants to support you to not only live, but to experience life for all it has to offer. Living with others and actively participating in the friendly Caloundra community will allow you to live life with dignity.
Here, you are also connected to numerous health services. Our support workers can organise appointments with GPs, physios, psychologists and any other allied health professional you may need.

Supported Care have 2 vacancies in Greenslopes for flexible accommodation support purposes. This site could support customers seeking ILO, SIL (1:1), MTA or STA funded supports.
The building is connected to the local community, close to public transport and a short distance from Brisbane CBD. Located across the road from a large shopping centre, as well as many local shops, cafes and restaurants, this home is able to suit a wide range of needs.
